Have You Had "The Shakes" Lately?

"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place? My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! "I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word." Isaiah 66:1-2.

Tremble.

Are you ready to tremble? God blesses those who "tremble at [His] Word."

Hold on, hold on. I think we need to rewind and tremble at that very verse above. God WILL BLESS those...who tremble at [His] Word. Not He may. Not only if He feels like it. Not because you deserve it. Not because you tithe faithfully. Not because you are super nice. No. He just will. Why? Because...The voice of the creator of the universe spoke it and it is what it is. Now tremble at that beautiful fact.

I have decided to try and pass on my excitement and newfound passion for sincerely trembling at the ACTUAL Word(s) of God. I mean, honestly, the spoken words of the Creator of the whole dang universe are chilling on silky pages in my lap. Ok...am I crazy for wanting to dance around at this revelation? THE WORDS THAT CAME OUT OF THE CREATOR OF EVERYTHING ARE IN MY LAP....FOR ME TO READ! WHAT. THE. HECK! YES!

This rant is very simple. Very obvious. Very short. But I truly believe (and know from what I am experiencing in my life) that if you can really grab onto this...if you could truly understand what trembling meant...if you could just meditate for a moment on the fact that the words in the book that probably is rarely opened, or maybe opened a whole lot, are the words of your Father. The perfect, life-giving, never-changing, chain-breaking, beautiful, wise, peace-bringing words muttered from the very mouth that knows the number of hairs on your head and who makes ALL things work together for your good. Hmm...tremble at that? Man, I hope you can really get this, I really do.

I want to list a few scriptures that made me really begin to tremble; These scriptures changed my approach to the Bible and Words of the Never Changing God. My prayer is that no matter what scripture you read, you find yourself in a state of "awe" simply because it is the Word of God.

Hebrews 13:20-21 says, "Now may the God of Peace--who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood--may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him." HOLY SMOKES! < That is not the word of God, that is me trembling ;)

Romans 5:2 says, "Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory."

Mathew 26:39- "...My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet, I want Your will to be done, not mine."

Genesis 1:3 "And then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light."

Psalms 18:1-3 "I love You, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies."

Revelation 3:21- "The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne."

Ecclesiastes 12:14-" For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether good or evil."

And the list goes on. I mean, it shouldn't be just "feel good scriptures" that bring you to tremble at His Word, but EVERY WORD should. Not to scare you into obeying because you fear Hell so by golly you will obey and tremble!!..but because these are words that will give you life and life more abundantly...words that bring clarity and understanding...I dare you to have such reverence for God's words that no matter what scripture you read, it completely changes your life and constantly brings you to your knees.

Tremble at His Word.
